おわりに
"through thick and thin" は「楽しい時もつらい時も」という意味です。もともとは "through thick and thin woods" という意味で使われていたようです。森の中を歩くときに、草木が生い茂って進みにくいところと少なくて進みやすいところがある、というところから、どんなときも、という意味で使われるようになったそうです。
